Pretty Prairie USD 311 celebrated the start of construction for its new middle school gym in a unique way.
Instead of hosting a groundbreaking ceremony, K-12 students, staff, and school board members each had the opportunity to sign one of the beams that was hoisted into the air and placed in the new middle school gym structure this morning. The beam was placed at about 10:30 a.m.
Students, staff, and each board member signed the beam last week!
Reminder: For any students in the class of 2027 (sophomores) class ring orders are due tomorrow!! Jostens will be at the high school at 8 a.m. tomorrow to confirm orders and finger sizes! Bring Jostens your online ring order confirmation number tomorrow!
Each student should have received an order catalog at the meeting last week. There are a few extras in the high school office.

Congratulations to our very own Mr. Hill for winning the annual Kansas State Fair pronto pup eating contest for the FOURTH year in a row!!!
Mr. Hill ate eight pronto pups and one jumbo pronto pup in 10 minutes!!!

Instead of a ground breaking ceremony, the district found a way to include K-12 students, staff, and school board members in a celebration for the middle school gym expansion project.
Everyone had the opportunity to sign a 9,800 pound beam on Tuesday that will be placed and secured into the new structure for the expansion on Thursday!!
