Beginning in the 2024-25 school year, state law requires public school districts to allow students living outside their district boundaries to attend their schools, if there is capacity to do so. As part of that law, districts are required to adopt a policy for how the Board of Education will determine capacity, and hold a public hearing about that proposed policy. The public hearing for USD 311 proposed open boundary policy will be at 6:45 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13, at Pretty Prairie Middle School in the teacher workroom, 101 N. Maple St, Pretty Prairie, KS 67570.
